Why we don't ship a custom VPN app
Open clients, subscription links, and why that matches how we built Aura.
Most consumer VPN brands push their app: download, trust us, connect. That is simple — but it concentrates trust in a binary you cannot easily audit.
AuraX follows the same philosophy we aligned on for Aura: we give you a subscription URL and point you to store-reviewed clients (for example Hiddify on Android and Streisand on iOS). You install from Google Play or the App Store, paste the link, and connect.
Analogy from physics
Think of the VPN tunnel as a pipe with controlled endpoints. We operate the infrastructure side; you choose the valve (the client app) from a vendor you can reason about. A black-box app from an unknown publisher is like a valve welded shut — you cannot inspect what happens inside.
What you should do
- Subscribe via Stripe (monthly or yearly).
- Open the dashboard and copy your subscription URL.
- Follow the Setup guides for your platform.
If anything in the flow should match Aura verbatim, use the same guide structure — it is intentional.
